"notes": "The Justice Department's 2025 AI use case inventory (entries DOJ-0061, DOJ-0062, DOJ-0063 and DOJ-0064, as consolidated by the Office of Management and Budget) lists four DEA licence plate reader uses, all deployed and classed as high-impact, with no vendor named: DOJ-0061, the 'DEASIL Program', with an operational date of January 2012, to identify and track the movements of persons of interest by plate; DOJ-0063, using federal partner data, with the same purpose; and DOJ-0062 (state partner data) and DOJ-0064 (a commercial solution), both with an operational date of January 2024 and described as an investigative tool for understanding drug markets, manufacturing and distribution channels. All four say the technology captures plate images, converts them to characters and can add the time and location of capture.",
