"notes": "The DHS 2025 AI Use Case Inventory (entry DHS-2572, as consolidated by the Office of Management and Budget) lists 'Acoustic Signature AI for Gunshot Detection' as a pilot. The entry says the system makes confidence determinations between non-gunshot sound and gunshots to reduce false alerts; only high-confidence events are sent to agents by text with a map link and an audio clip, and agents review the audio. It gives a pilot start of 8 September 2025 and says warnings may concern activity south of the border. DHS presumed the use high-impact and determined it is not.",
