"notes": "The joint Sussex Police and Surrey Police freedom of information response on artificial intelligence (version 5.1, 21 August 2026) lists \"Automated Video Redaction\" and \"Text Redaction\" as \"Operational\". An earlier Sussex Police version of the same response, with its introduction marked as updated in January 2026, listed an automated video redaction pilot, described as a tool to \"accelerate disclosures compliant with UKGDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018\" and used in information access teams, and listed text redaction as planned. Neither version names a supplier. The current version does not say whether the tools are used by Sussex, Surrey or both, so this record is made for Sussex Police, which publishes the document and whose earlier version describes the pilot.",
