    "notes": "The Slovenian Ministry of the Interior listed an automated facial comparison system, 'ABIS', among five police digitalisation projects financed from the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility, in a news release of 13 December 2024. It said some equipment for the project had already been bought, and that experts at the National Forensic Laboratory had to be trained and the method accredited by Slovenska akreditacija; it did not say the system was in use. RTV SLO (5 October 2023) reported, citing the General Police Directorate, that the police planned to acquire ABIS in the second half of 2024 to compare faces of offenders against the police register of photographed persons, centrally at the National Forensic Laboratory, with a video analysis module at police directorates for filtering footage. An undated 24ur report said it would replace the older Face Trace system, would always return at least 50 candidates for a forensic expert to assess, and would not draw on social networks, utility companies' or car-park cameras, search engines or the population register. None of these sources says the system has gone live.",
