    "notes": "Cumbria Constabulary says it is using a new national 'AI-powered' call routing system for its non-emergency 101 line, 'introduced today (18 August)'; the page gives no year, and the Home Office announcement of the national system is dated 18 August 2026. The system identifies calls meant for other organisations, such as councils or the NHS, and redirects them before callers join a police queue; callers can confirm or reject how the system has understood their reason for calling, and uncertain calls go straight to police.
