"notes": "Island FM reported on 17 February 2025 that the Chief of Police, Robin Smith, said the force had begun a \"limited introduction\" of AI, with \"ethics and robust governance\" at the heart of its approach, and that the force's plan commits to embedding its existing AI work, including transcription, and to looking at further uses such as translation and vetting. A News Minimalist summary of a Yahoo News report of 2 March 2025 said the force was testing AI to transcribe witness interviews and that the deputy chief officer described the trials as producing positive results. CO/AI reported on 11 August 2025, citing the BBC, that AI tools were \"now helping\" to transcribe witness interviews. No tool or supplier is named, and these reports do not say whether the testing has ended or become routine use.",
