"oversight": "Georgia Bureau of Investigation investigation of the misuse (as of August 2026)",
"notes": "WTOC reported on 10 August 2026 that Savannah police fired six employees (four officers and two civilian staff) for misusing Flock technology: an internal investigation that began on 27 July found searches on acquaintances and family members, and one employee gave someone outside law enforcement access to the system. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was still investigating. Two aldermen called for frequent audits and stricter policy, and the ACLU of Georgia's deputy executive director said surveillance technology would only grow. WTOC reported on 20 October 2026 that four of the six had been charged criminally and that Mayor Van Johnson said the department had strengthened its rules and planned a public portal showing how the technology is used. The sources do not give the number of cameras or a start date.",
