"notes": "A presentation by the Lithuanian Police Department, dated 3 April 2026, describes DI.POLIS as a virtual police assistant that answers general questions about police activities in a chat window, in Lithuanian and English, around the clock rather than only in office hours. It lists about 28 services and further topics, including extracts from administrative offence case files and archive documents, weapons, explosives and pyrotechnics licences and permits, and personal and property protection licences. Its AI components are given as a chatbot, a system for preparing answers and managing session information, a file transcriber, and Lithuanian speech recognition, machine translation and speech synthesis. The Police Department was the implementer, with Vytautas Magnus University as partner; the project ran from September 2023 to November 2025 with a budget of EUR 578,507, financed from the economic recovery and resilience measure and the state budget. The presentation describes the assistant in the present tense ('Veikia lietuvių ir anglų kalbomis susirašinėjant', it works in Lithuanian and English in written chat), says voice interaction was tested during the project, and lists periodic retraining on newer data and more topics as next steps; it does not give a launch date or say on which website the assistant is offered. It is a public-information chatbot, not an emergency call-handling system. No supplier is named.",
