    "notes": "Manx Radio reported on 10 August 2026, citing a government update to the island's security strategy, that automatic number plate recognition will soon be in place at the island's ports, that the legislation allowing the cameras to be used is complete and full deployment is expected shortly, and that the cameras had been due to be in use by the end of 2025 but the project was delayed. Isle of Man Today reported on 10 February 2025 that the Isle of Man Constabulary would gain access to the UK National ANPR Service database in two phases: first manual searches and alerts on the UK system, from around March 2025, then ANPR cameras at the island's sea ports connected directly to the UK database, at a cost of around £32,000 a year; Manx Radio reported the same day that the first phase was due to start the following month. No source found confirms that the first phase began. Isle of Man Today reported on 6 February 2025 that the government's border security strategy also envisages facial recognition at air and sea ports, and that a Bill to enable facial recognition was brought to the House of Keys in January 2025; no deployment is reported.",
