"notes": "The Richmonder reported on 12 March 2026 that the Richmond Police Department's gunshot detectors are manufactured by Flock Safety, with the gunshot detection contract expiring on 18 March and the plate reader contract on 30 June; Police Chief Rick Edwards said he hoped to renew the contracts. Neither source reports the gunshot detection contract's renewal terms. WWBT reported on 13 October 2026 that the mayor's decision not to renew covers only the plate readers and that the gunshot detection devices, from the same company, 'will remain'. The sources do not state when the gunshot detection devices were installed or how many there are. The Richmonder figure of at least $1,003,674.81 in Flock-related payments from October 2024 to November 2025 covers all Flock products.",
