"notes": "The National Crime Agency published a prior information notice on Find a Tender on 2 October 2024 (2024/S 000-031551), titled \"Request for Information for Facial Recognition Solution\". It seeks supplier views on a retrospective facial recognition solution covering one-to-one, one-to-many and many-to-many searches of still images and video, able to be used alongside live and officer-initiated facial recognition, with \"purchase of the FR solution, its installation, relevant updates and required support and maintenance\" at national, enterprise level. The notice states \"This is not a bidding opportunity\", gives no value, estimates a contract notice date of 31 March 2025, and gives two conflicting response deadlines (11 October 2024 and 23 August 2024). The Stack reported on 3 October 2024 that the agency had \"not yet committed to procuring a solution\" and quoted the notice saying the solution would be used \"in conjunction with a large image data set\". No contract award has been found, so the record shows a plan, not use.",
