"notes": "The DHS 2025 AI Use Case Inventory (entry DHS-2427, as consolidated by the Office of Management and Budget) lists 'Translation and Transcription for Investigative Data' as deployed. The entry says neural machine translation and speech-recognition models translate and transcribe investigative material in other languages for HSI personnel; it names the open-source Whisper and No Language Left Behind models and lists Booz Allen as vendor, with the work done through contracting and in house. It says the models are not trained on agency data, that insights are reviewed and validated by personnel and supervisors before entering any case management system, and that material deemed critical for court proceedings goes to certified human translators. DHS presumed the use high-impact and determined it is not.",
