"notes": "SEPTA announced on 17 November 2022, after its Board approved it, a pilot of ZeroEyes software layered on existing station cameras on the Market-Frankford and Broad Street Lines to detect brandished guns; the release says ZeroEyes specialists review every detection around the clock, alerts go to SEPTA safety personnel and local law enforcement, and the system is designed not to perform facial recognition. KYW Newsradio (Audacy) reported on 22 March 2024 that the pilot ended in December 2023 after about 10 months, that it monitored 300 cameras, and that there were 'only a few instances' of alerts to police about someone with a firearm. SEPTA spokesperson Andrew Busch said it 'wasn't the right fit for SEPTA police at this time'; ZeroEyes said SEPTA's mostly analogue cameras were largely incompatible with its software. In a blind test reported by the station, 20 digital and 20 analogue cameras failed to detect plainclothes officers carrying guns. The year of the start of the live pilot is not given in these sources.",
