"notes": "Interfax-Ukraine reported on 24 December 2025 that the police of Chernihiv Oblast had announced the opening of a new video surveillance centre in Chernihiv whose system uses \"artificial intelligence algorithms\". According to the police, 400 cameras were installed in the city, bringing the regional total to 1,500, and some cameras include facial recognition and vehicle recognition. The police said the centre lets operators follow the situation in the city in real time and is used to help find lost children. The project was supported and funded by the Chernihiv city military administration; the police said the system is the first in Ukraine built on Ukrainian software, and no vendor is named. The regional police chief Ivan Ishchenko said it covers key public spaces and transport hubs, and the police described the opening as the first of three stages. UkraNews carried the same police statement, made on Facebook.",
