"notes": "6abc reported on 5 March 2026 that the Camden County Police Department's Real Time Crime Center is 'one spot local police use A.I. to help fight crime', and that 'A.I. is used to run plates on the department's automated license plate readers': cameras capture plates, and, in the station's words, 'A.I. can then analyze thousands of images in seconds' and alert officers when a vehicle is wanted in connection with a crime or reported stolen. Lt. Gordon Harvey described the centre as 'the nerve center, the brain of the operation that goes on a daily basis', compared the system to finding 'a needle in a haystack', and said the cameras are also used to identify illegal dumping, after which the vehicles are put on a hot list. The description of the plate checks as AI is the station's; the report does not name a vendor, describe the software or give a start date.",
