"notes": "NBC 6 South Florida, in an article written with the News Service of Florida, reported on 1 September 2026 that Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz said the county's licence plate readers on Florida Department of Transportation roads would be taken offline by the end of that day and the office's licence plate reader programme suspended, after an FDOT memorandum withdrew authority to use the cameras on state roads. She said the technology has helped apprehend suspects and find missing people. The article gives no camera count or vendor and does not say whether cameras off state roads are affected; no later source found reports the programme resuming. This is separate from the existing Miami-Dade image geolocation record.",
