AI in Police Recruitment Screening
AI or algorithmic tools used by police forces to shortlist or screen applicants for police posts.
At least one police force is testing AI that helps recruitment staff check and shortlist applications, with the aim of reducing manual checks.
The tracker records a use only where a named force or a force disclosure describes it. At present the evidence is a single freedom of information response from West Yorkshire Police describing an early-stage proof of concept, limited to its Constable to Sergeant process.
This is distinct from AI Call-Taker Hiring and Training Simulation, which covers simulated emergency calls used to test and train control room staff.
