Notes
Jurnalul reported on 17 September 2024, from the tender documents published on the national procurement system SEAP, that the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police (IGPR) states an LPR subsystem was introduced in 2023 and is already installed on 200 police vehicles. IGPR launched a tender on 17 May 2024 to extend it to at least 1,200 vehicles; each kit has an external LPR camera, an interior IP camera, a private communications link and a tablet for managing the system and receiving alerts. According to the article, Vodafone România won all three lots of the framework agreement, signed on 30 July 2024 and valued at about 71.48 million lei excluding VAT, and follow-on contracts were signed on 7 August 2024 (infrastructure) and 9 September 2024 (vehicle equipment). Capital.ro (18 March 2025) and BZI (16 June 2025) both describe the mobile LPR system as already fitted to police cars, in reporting an IGPR tender for at least 1,100 fixed LPR cameras on roads nationwide; BZI says the fixed-camera framework agreement, worth about 51.5 million lei excluding VAT, went to Vodafone România for three lots and Arctic Stream for the fourth, and describes installation in the future tense.
