Notes
Recorded as a trial on the force's own wording, quoted verbatim from the Police Workplan Seminar 2026 page: 'At sea, the Police Coast Guard is trialling an Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) to support maritime patrols and support incident response.' The status is the force's characterisation, not an inference.
The same source states the vessel has been operating since March 2026, can operate fully autonomously in navigation, collision avoidance, anchoring and berthing, and has replaced one manned patrol twice a week. Sensors are given as a Seaborne Electro-Optics System, 360-degree stereoscopic cameras, warning systems and two-way communication.
'techSlug' is omitted deliberately. The autonomous-patrol-vehicles record was read in this run and is explicitly limited to road vehicles, distinguishing them from site-patrol robots and stating that they 'operate on roads, at vehicle scale'. A vessel does not belong under it, and forcing the link would misdescribe both.
Fields left out: 'vendor', 'legalBasis' and 'oversight' are omitted because the source establishes none of them.
