Notes

The City Council states that the Policía Municipal operates 390 video surveillance cameras, 106 of them (more than 27 per cent) with artificial intelligence, and that images are held for a set period at the Centro Integrado de Señales de Vídeo (CISEVI). Its press release of 12 December 2025 describes a recently installed five-camera system at El Calero park, operated by the Policía Municipal, whose cameras have AI "facilitando las búsquedas", and says a 14-camera system at Pradolongo park will be activated soon. Europa Press, published by Última Hora (12 December 2025), quotes Deputy Mayor Inma Sanz saying the AI makes searches "mucho más ágiles", and Joaquín Rodríguez, deputy director for IT, communications and new technologies of the Policía Municipal, saying that "las búsquedas se realizan sin reconocimiento facial"; it reports searches by traits such as height, clothing and colour, and reconstruction of movement sequences to support police investigations. A City Council note of 31 October 2024 on the contract for 37 cameras at Calle Cullera, El Calero and Pradolongo (€2,027,640) says all would have AI intended to anticipate conduct that threatens safety and coexistence, that some would be dedicated to licence plate recognition, and that they would be operated exclusively by the Policía Municipal. The City Council's December 2025 release says the El Calero cameras allow licence plates to be identified, while Europa Press reports that the dedicated plate-reading devices are on Calle Cullera.
