Hyderabad Director-General of Police CV Anand has chaired a high-level meeting with police commissioners, municipal officials, and key stakeholders to review the progress of the Safe City Project. The initiative prioritises technology-driven policing, incorporating artificial intelligence, smart monitoring, Integrated Command and Control Centres across all commissionerates, and Intelligent Traffic Management Systems to enhance crime prevention and emergency response. As part of the surveillance network expansion, 2,306 high-definition CCTV cameras are currently operational under the project, with another 862 undergoing installation across four commissionerates. Additional plans agreed during the review include installing 12 Mobile She Toilets, restoring 404 non-functional traffic signals, strengthening pedestrian infrastructure, and expanding public awareness campaigns.
