Thames Valley Police will deploy Live Facial Recognition (LFR) vans in Witney Market Square, Oxfordshire, on Friday, 10 July. A specialist LFR team will operate alongside local officers to identify known suspects, deter crime, and help keep communities safer. The technology works by comparing digital images of human faces against a database of known faces to generate potential matches. Officers from the force have invited members of the public to approach the team to see how the equipment operates and learn how LFR is used fairly and responsibly.
