The Sindh Inspector General of Police has established a high-level committee to modernise the provincial force using artificial intelligence and drone-based aerial surveillance systems. Chaired by AIG Iqbal Dara, the panel includes senior officers who will assess the operational need for a dedicated drone operations wing to conduct real-time surveillance across the province. The committee will also evaluate requirements for an artificial intelligence division, a cybercrime wing, specialised investigation units, and a strategic communication team. A technical review will determine staffing demands, including the recruitment of IT experts and other skilled personnel into policing roles. Furthermore, a structured framework will be created to manage officer transfers or direct recruitment into these new specialist positions.
