Philadelphia-based start-up Kognition AI has developed an automated surveillance system that monitors security threats for commercial buildings. The technology links digital security video and sensors to analyse surveillance data, filter out false alarms, and rank potential risks. It can automatically control building locks and quickly alert law enforcement and emergency services when needed. The system was adopted by the owners of the 3.0 University Place complex in West Philadelphia after human guards and remote camera monitoring missed real security incidents and proved too costly.
