Notes
VareseNews (5 May 2025) reports that the Polizia Locale's new control room, presented to the town that day, uses two AI functions: live "videoanalisi predittiva" that detects irregular situations such as gatherings, heavy traffic, accidents and brawls in real time and alerts operators, and multi-source post-event search across all cameras using limited details such as clothing colour or vehicle features. It says the system has 145 context cameras, 20 of them with live video analysis. The article also lists "riconoscimento facciale" among the criteria by which the room can search for vehicles, people and objects; this is the newspaper's description, and the article does not quote the municipality or the police on it. Mayor Emanuele Antonelli said he would work with the councillor for security to add cameras for live analysis. Legnano News (20 January 2026), reporting on the force's 2025 activity, says systems with artificial intelligence were introduced in 2025 and that 20 of 154 context cameras have AI. The vendor is not named.
