Paterson Police Department

NJ.com, in an article by Deion Johnson republished by Police1 on 22 January 2026, reported that Paterson Police had launched a Real Time Operations Center that 'integrates city-owned cameras, gunshot detection technology, automatic license plate readers and analytics from body-worn cameras', giving officers and supervisors live data and video feeds, and that the department is also using the Fusus platform to let residents and businesses voluntarily share security camera footage with police. The article names no vendor for the gunshot detection, plate readers or body-camera analytics, does not explain the analytics and does not use the term 'AI'; this record covers the centre's camera integration platform, which the tracker records under real-time crime centre integration, and not those separate systems. The article also describes an expanded drone programme for search and rescue, investigations and 3D mapping of scenes, with no automated or AI features named. News 12 New Jersey reported that the centre was unveiled on 8 January 2026, during the New Jersey Attorney General's control of the department, and the article does not say when Fusus use began.
