Journal du Net (17 March 2025), interviewing General Marc Boget, the Gendarmerie's director of digital and technology strategy, and Adrien Ly, head of the DataLab of the Interior Ministry's digital agency for internal security forces (ANFSI), describes Parole, a system that automatically transcribes recorded interviews of minor victims, which French law requires to be transcribed in writing for the magistrate. It reports that Parole is "déjà déployé" in the Gendarmerie's family protection units (maisons de protection des familles) and cuts processing from about eight hours per interview to two to four. The ANFSI DataLab is said to have developed the speech-to-text component on OpenAI's open-source Whisper model and retrained it on children's voices; extensions to transcribe phone interceptions and dictated reports were described as being finalised. The article gives no deployment date, vendor or legal basis.
