Notes
GovTech reported on 5 August 2025 that the department's chief information officer, Kenneth Kicia, described CLEO (Corrections Large Language Environment Online), a generative AI tool built within a Microsoft Azure Government cloud environment and operating entirely within the department's network, with a chat module, a library module that answers questions from department policies and cites them, and a data analysis module that corrects metadata in the data warehouse; a fourth analytics module was under development. The article says CLEO 'officially launched in April' (no year is given; the article was published in August 2025) and that facial recognition, voice-to-text analysis and surveillance video processing were being explored. The article also describes the department's phone monitoring AI, covered by a separate existing record. No later source on CLEO was found; the status reflects the August 2025 report.
