Notes

SUPCON Information builds the T2, a 98kg humanoid using cameras, radar and onboard computing to identify traffic violations. Reuters reported in August 2026 that 15 T2 units had operated in Hangzhou since May 2026, issuing more than 170,000 warnings, with SUPCON claiming a fall of over 40% in monthly helmetless riding and stop-line violations. Reuters could not verify the figures and Hangzhou traffic police did not respond. Counts and effectiveness figures are company claims.

Update, November 2026. Xinhua, carried by the Hunan provincial government website on 5 May 2026, quotes Chen Sanchuan, an officer with the Hangzhou Traffic Police, and reports 15 intelligent traffic management robots deployed at key downtown intersections from 1 May 2026. It says they direct traffic, detect violations such as riders without helmets and give audio warnings, and that at West Lake a large language model gives route guidance; it calls the squadron "fully operational". Reuters (20 August 2026) describes the Hangzhou deployment as "part of a pilot" and reports that nearly 50 such robots are operating across about eight cities in three provinces, without naming them. The operational status follows Xinhua's description; Reuters calls the deployment a pilot.
