Notes
The Coast Guard's news site MyCG (Kathy Murray, 15 June 2026) describes TRITON, the Tactical Retrieval and Intelligence Tool for Operational Narratives, as a voice-enabled, 'AI-driven' app that turns boarding teams' spoken observations into a standardised report that can be sent ashore quickly, works without internet connectivity and 'guides boarding teams through complex legal steps and requirements' while generating reports and case files; the article says it could reduce the paperwork involved in counter-drug interdictions. It says the app was developed by CG-RAPTOR, the Coast Guard's rapid prototyping team, with the Office of Maritime Law Enforcement and C5I, and that the team 'only began working on both capabilities in November', without giving the year. A prototype was shown in a field demonstration on the Potomac River alongside the BADGERNet connectivity kit; a caption dates CG-RAPTOR's prototyping of the two at Coast Guard Station Washington to 19 May 2026. The article says: 'If testing goes well this summer, the Coast Guard hopes to roll it out to the fleet by the fall.' MyCG had published no later report on TRITON by November 2026, so whether testing or roll-out has taken place is not known. No vendor is named.
