Facial recognition, GPS trackers and anti-drone systems for Wari security
Reported by drone systems for Wari security
Pune City Police have deployed a technology-driven security operation featuring artificial intelligence-enabled facial recognition, anti-drone systems, GPS trackers, and an Integrated Command and Control Centre for the Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi processions. More than 7,500 officers and personnel are being stationed across the city to manage security for the event, which is expected to draw lakhs of warkaris. Police teams were positioned ahead of schedule on 7 July after flooding in Alandi led pilgrims to be directed to Pune earlier than anticipated. As part of the wider security and emergency arrangements for the event, twelve GPS devices have been installed for real-time tracking, and an air ambulance facility has been introduced for critical patients at Pandharpur for the first time this year.
