Notes
The DHS 2025 AI Use Case Inventory (entry DHS-132, as consolidated by the Office of Management and Budget) lists 'Accessible Property Screening (APS) Checkpoint CT Prohibited Items (PI) Detection' as pre-deployment, with no operational date. The entry says AI would place 3D boxes on checkpoint CT X-ray images where it finds non-explosive prohibited items, alongside existing explosives algorithms, and could allow images to be shown only on alarm. DHS classes it as high-impact.
