Notes
PSNI's response to freedom of information request FOI/16629, published on 4 February 2026 in answer to a question on its use of artificial intelligence, lists a tool called DOC Defender that redacts personal information from documents. The response gives no start date, supplier or detail of how the tool works, and does not say how much of the redaction is automated. It sits alongside the voice-to-text transcription tool recorded separately.
