Minutes of the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner's Public Scrutiny Board of 29 June 2026 record the Chief Constable highlighting 'Cheshire's AI strategy' and 'the roll-out of Microsoft Copilot', and citing 'the successful adoption of Microsoft Copilot' as evidence that modernisation is delivering results. The minutes also mention Copilot workshops, masterclasses, online tutorials and bespoke learning packages developed with Microsoft. Separately, they record eight live automations (such as bail and safeguarding notifications) and more than 200,000 automated tasks completed since February 2026, and an Artificial Intelligence Enablement Programme that 'aims to reduce administrative burdens, improve efficiency' and release officer and staff time, with benefits monitored 'through business cases and performance reporting'. The minutes do not say how many staff have licences, which Copilot product is used, or which tasks it is used for. They also name TOEX (Tackling Organised Exploitation Programme) and 'Prometheus (digital forensics tool)' among technologies in use, without further description. The year in which Copilot was introduced is not stated.
