Notes
The Justice Department's 2025 AI use case inventory (entry DOJ-0158, as consolidated by the Office of Management and Budget) lists 'NLETs Arrest Classification' as deployed. The entry says statistical techniques classify text descriptions of arrests into offence types, to classify arrest records correctly 'to inform recidivism assessments'. It names SAS as vendor, gives an operational date of January 2019 and classes the use as high-impact.
