Notes
WDBJ reported on 24 July 2026 that Roanoke has 24 Flock licence plate reader cameras operating. Police audit every use monthly, according to Chief Scott Booth; officers may search only with a legal reason such as a criminal investigation or missing person case. The department says it does not share Flock data with federal agencies. The article also says the city removed its recently installed Flock gunshot detectors after a data entry error led to improper installations. Start date not given.
