Notes
WSAZ reported on 4 August 2026 that Huntington's City Council adopted a resolution the previous week to enter a five-year contract worth more than $2 million with Flock Safety. The contract includes Flock's OS360 software; Police Chief Phil Watkins confirmed that it includes an AI feature, which he described as 'an AI overlay that enhances the search capabilities', and said how the AI will be used and what guidelines will govern it were still being worked out. Watkins said nothing in the contract goes live until policies, training and audits are finalised and in writing. WSAZ reported that the OS360 order form contained no product description. The Herald-Dispatch reported that the contract, passed by a 6-4 vote, covers 46 licence plate recognition cameras with vehicle fingerprint technology, 17 live video cameras, two drones and two gunshot detection devices, for $2.1 million over five years; a later Herald-Dispatch report, published before a council vote on a safeguards ordinance set for 14 September 2026, said the contract had not been signed and no equipment would be ordered until it was, with no activation date. No source found shows the system in use.
