The 2025 AI use case inventory of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (entry NASA-753, as consolidated by the Office of Management and Budget) lists 'Intelligent Camera Analytics for Security and Operations' as deployed. The entry says commercial camera analytics (Milestone, Genetec, Verkada and Lenel are named) detect and classify objects and activity, such as loitering or perimeter breaches, and flag incidents for operator review. It gives an operational date of 1 January 2016 and classes the use as high-impact.
