Notes
The DHS 2025 AI Use Case Inventory (entry DHS-2568, as consolidated by the Office of Management and Budget) lists 'Non-intrusive vessel and object detection tool (Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS))' as pre-deployment, with no operational date. The entry says AI would classify objects in sensor images, correlate them with ship tracking (AIS) data and alert users to detected objects with no AIS signal, for review by a trained CBP agent. DHS presumed the use high-impact and determined it is not.
