Notes

The Justice Department's 2025 AI use case inventory (entries DOJ-0124, DOJ-0130 and DOJ-0131, as consolidated by the Office of Management and Budget) lists three FBI uses titled 'License Plate Reader 1', 'License Plate Reader 2' and 'License Plate Reader 3', all deployed with an operational date of January 2024 and classed as high-impact. Each says licence plate reader technology helps locate vehicles associated with persons of interest, with video as the output, and gives the vendor only as 'AI Service Provider'. The three entries are worded identically and do not say how they differ.
