The joint Sussex Police and Surrey Police freedom of information response on artificial intelligence (version 5.1, 21 August 2026) lists "Transcription (Speech-to-Text)" with the status "Pilot". The earlier Sussex Police version of the response (introduction marked as updated in January 2026) also lists it as a pilot, refers to "transcription for high-accuracy speech-to-text", and describes the forces' pilots as time-limited and used "to evaluate effectiveness and compliance before adoption". No supplier, start date or duration is given, and the document does not say whether the pilot runs in Sussex, Surrey or both; this record is made for Sussex Police, which publishes the document.
