Notes
A joint Sussex Police and Surrey Police freedom of information "super response" on artificial intelligence (version 5.1, footer dated 21 August 2026) states: "The only LLM currently approved for use in both Forces is Microsoft Copilot". It says Copilot is not authorised for use in the criminal justice system to create evidential material, including witness statements and MG forms, and that the "Web Grounding" function, which sends queries to Bing, has been deactivated. The document gives no licence numbers, contract terms or roll-out date. The two forces share an AI policy.
