Notes
The Justice Department's 2025 AI use case inventory (entry DOJ-0225, as consolidated by the Office of Management and Budget) lists 'Axon Video Retention Solution (VRS) - object recognition and redaction' as deployed. The entry says Axon's object recognition makes first-pass suggestions for redacting faces, licence plates and computer terminals in video, and the redaction is not complete until a person validates it. It gives an operational date of February 2021 and classes the use as high-impact.
