Notes
The Justice Department's 2025 AI use case inventory (entry DOJ-0327, as consolidated by the Office of Management and Budget) lists 'AWS Rekognition' as pre-deployment, with no operational date. The entry says AWS Rekognition would index faces already in the Marshals Service Capture System and search new entries against them to flag possible existing records for a new subject. DOJ classes the use as high-impact; the entry's vendor field is blank, but the use case is named after Amazon Web Services' Rekognition service.
