Notes
Tampa Police announced on 8 January 2026, in a release listing new technologies 'that have been implemented', that officers 'now have access to real-time translation in over 50 languages' and 'voice-activated policy guidance with official citations' through Axon Assistant and Policy Chat on their body-worn cameras. The release describes these as part of 'transformative AI-powered platforms'. It does not say how many officers have the tools or when they went live. The same release describes Prepared 911 in the communications centre, which is a separate system, and verbal-skills training in virtual reality pods in which 'AI-driven virtual characters respond in real-time' to officers' commands and tone.
