Notes
The DHS 2025 AI Use Case Inventory (entry DHS-2553, as consolidated by the Office of Management and Budget) lists 'Media Classifier for Computer and Digital Storage Evidence' as deployed. The entry says a machine learning model classifies media files from lawfully obtained computer and storage devices and suggests category tags chosen by the user, such as cars, drugs or weapons, to save analysts manual sorting. It says HSI gives the vendor no agency data to train or evaluate the model. DHS classes it as not high-impact.
