Notes
The DHS 2025 AI Use Case Inventory (entry DHS-2517, as consolidated by the Office of Management and Budget) lists 'Dark Web Threat Intelligence for Cyber Investigations' as deployed. The entry says the system gives concise summaries of dark web search results, English translations of non-English data and metadata that points to possible connections and leads, with access to the original data kept for verification. DHS says the outputs support Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) investigations, are not used as the sole basis for enforcement action and are reviewed by personnel. The vendor is withheld as law enforcement sensitive. DHS presumed the use high-impact and determined it is not.
