Notes
The Justice Department's 2025 AI use case inventory (entry DOJ-0069, as consolidated by the Office of Management and Budget) lists 'Data & Analytics: Database Tools' as deployed. The entry says generative AI tools let DEA search, monitor and analyse public structured and unstructured sources, including scientific literature, social media, dark web, news, public records and forums, for investigations. It gives an operational date of January 2024 and classes the use as high-impact.
