Police AI deployment tracker

Every known use of artificial intelligence by a police force or public body: one record per body and system, each tied to the public source it rests on. Search, filter and download any view. Select a column heading to sort.

511 records across 57 countries, last checked 6 November 2026. How records are made

511 records: 395 in use now, 35 withdrawn, 81 on the horizon.

Every square is one record. Squares outside your search and filters fade, so you can see what part of the whole you are looking at.

Full methodology

One record per body. Each row is one police force or public body using one system. Where a national programme serves many forces, each force that has confirmed using it has its own record, and the records share a programme name so they can be found together. A claim that "all forces" use something is not recorded until it can be checked force by force.

Every record has a source. The evidence column says what kind: an official publication, a regulator's finding, a court record, procurement notice, freedom of information response, journalism or research. Records resting on a supplier's own website or social media are marked as claims.

Records are checked, not just added. The date checked is when the record was last confirmed against its source. Status changes, such as a trial becoming operational or a contract ending, are made only after a person has reviewed the evidence.

In use now

Operational
In routine use by the named body, on the evidence of a public source.
Trial
Being tested in live conditions under a time-limited pilot or trial.
Paused
Use suspended, with no evidence it has ended.

Withdrawn

Discontinued
Use has ended, on the evidence of a public source.

On the horizon

Proposed
Planned by a named body: a procurement, approved budget, announced pilot or consultation. Not yet in use.
In development
Being researched, built, tested or marketed for police use. No police body has confirmed using it.
